Cottage by the Water

Not every New York Airbnb is necessarily found deep in the heart of the city, as proven by this lovely cottage out in Howard Beach. Sitting close to the beach, on the edge of Queens near Jamaica Bay, it will almost feel like you’re no longer in NYC. Getting to the city is pretty easy though with great connections for the subway and the JFK AirTrain.

At this sleek and spacious cottage, you can comfortably sleep up to four guests. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, while the second room features two singles, suiting both romantic and family getaways. You’ll also have a large lounge area, nice dining room, and outdoor porch overlooking the water, meaning you have ample space for people to spread out.

A well equipped kitchen, with a large stove top and refrigerator mean preparing your own meals won’t be a problem. Around the corner from the kitchen is a washer and dryer, meaning you can also take care of laundry. Besides a huge TV with Netflix and Wi-Fi, there’s also a cupboard full of board games to keep you entertained.

Private Studio

It’s hard to find a good cheap Airbnb in New York City which is why this fantastic studio apartment is such a godsend. Found in the trendy neighborhood of Bushwick, this part of Brooklyn is great if you like street art, diverse dining options, and artisanal coffee. But also this apartment is so affordable that you won’t mind taking the subway to get into Manhattan.

Being a studio apartment with just a double bed, this Airbnb is best suited to solo travelers or couples. However, there is also a comfortable spare twin size mattress if you need. The apartment has its own private bathroom, but just a refrigerator and microwave instead of a kitchenette.

What this studio lacks in size, it makes up for in value and convenience. The room comes pre-stocked with some basic groceries, like coffee, tea, oatmeal, and bagels, to make mornings easier. There’s also self-check in here, making your arrival more flexible and streamlined. Other amenities include cable TV, Wi-Fi, heating, and air-conditioning.

Found in the residential neighborhood of Forest Hills in Queens, this is a safe and convenient part of the city which is particularly close to factory outlets and two major shopping centers.

Thanks to its small size, this Airbnb is ideal for tourists who don’t plan on spending much time in their accommodation or don’t need much space. The studio features one full-sized bed that makes this place best suited to couples. Despite the limited space, there’s also a small living area with a couch and coffee table for you to watch the 4K TV or read a book.

Unlike some studios this size, this apartment does come with its own kitchenette. In the kitchenette you’ll find a fridge, microwave, and portable cooktop to prepare meals with, as well as some complimentary drinks and snacks. Beautiful Lower East Side 1 Bedroom Loft

Those wanting to stay in a true New York loft won’t be able to resist this beautiful Manhattan apartment. Found in the eclectic Lower East Side, guests will be close to some of the best restaurants in the city, as well as handy public transport connections.

While the loft can sleep up to four guests, it’s design with just one bedroom is more aimed at couples and business travelers. This is because while the bedroom offers a queen bed, other guests will have to use a floor mattress. And since this loft is only available for long term guests staying longer than a month, that might be too long for a floor mattress.

That said, you won’t find staying in this apartment a month difficult at all. It comes with a fully-equipped kitchen with a range cooktop, breakfast bar, and dining table. There’s also a living area with great big windows and a modern bathroom. For your comfort there’s heating and air-conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and access to laundry facilities.

The apartment feels quite cozy rather than compact, thanks to the indoor fireplace and the leafy trees out the windows.
